The Macallan distillery is a single malt Scotch whisky distillery in Craigellachie, Moray.

The Macallan Distillers Ltd, is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Edrington Group which purchased the brand from Highland Distillers in 1999.

The third release from The Macallan’s “wood-focused” Edition series is the combination of work by master whisky maker Bob Dalgarno and master perfumer Roja Dove to create whisky using their very particular sets of skills.

The flavour profile for Edition No. 3 was created by Roja Dove by using the same formula he would for a perfume: pinpointing complementary aromas, and balancing these with a “counterpoint” note.

As a result, the whisky is a combination of six American and European oak casks, with deliciously sweet, floral notes up front.
