An Islay malt distillery that is located between Laphroaig and Ardbeg on the south-east coast. One of two Islay distilleries in the Diageo portfolio,

it is the island’s representative in the Classic Malts of Scotland collection and its classic 16-year-old is one of the world’s best-loved whiskies.

Titled Spirited Xchange, the 2023 batch of annual Special Releases from Diageo focussed on the use of new and unusual secondary maturation for its portfolio of well-known distillery brands.

It included eight malt whiskies from Mortlach, The Singleton, Talisker, Lagavulin, Glenkinchie, Oban, Clynelish and, notably, the first ever public release of spirit from Roseisle.

Among the various cask-finishes include barrels that had previously held tequila, Japanese whisky, pot-distilled rum and Chardonnay de Bourgogne.
