Third generation Denis Barnard took over his father’s sugar plantation at the age of 21 and established the Dennery distillery.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cp\u003eHe was an original pioneer in the art of blending rum and began experimenting from molasses produced by the plantation’s own sugar factory. His philosophy and technique of blending different distillates created a unique and captivating spirit.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cp\u003eHe produced a consistently smooth, high-quality blended product. It is with this inspiration that his son, Laurie Barnard, founded Chairman’s Reserve.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cp\u003eLaurie first experimented with blending respective casks of pot still and column still rums; and then returned the blended rum back into oak barrels to marry together.
