Hugo Asbach was born in Cologne in 1868, his apprenticeship took him to France, where he learned to burn wine.

In 1892 he returned to Germany and founded his own wine distillery in Rüdesheim am Rhein. After his death, Asbach’s success story is continued by his sons and is now enjoyed in over 50 countries around the world.

The label on the bottle is based on the original document on which Hugo Asbach noted the recipe in 1892.

The distillate first matures in Limousin oak barrels, then in German oak barrels. These are particularly permeable to air and offer the fine firing optimal conditions to breathe and mature.

Finally, the secret ripening and finishing process gives Asbach its radiant topaz tone and its characteristic bouquet.
