The highly anticipated 2022 Rare Cask release from The Macallan is a showcase of whisky from the finest sherry-seasoned casks.
The casks have been selected as they bring a particularly complex, raisin-forward character to the Highland single malt Scotch whisky.
Distilled at Macallan distillery in Craigellachie, after previously being discontinued, the rare cask is now being released in smaller batches.
This particular expression is the 2022 release which has been created by drawing whisky from less than 1% of the casks that are currently maturing at Macallan with a high proportion of first fill sherry casks.
